“…Balance, depicting an attempt to balance helium balloons hovering in a room. In a process which lasts several minutes, Rivnay tries to balance the balloon by creating an equilibrium between the balloon and its weights made of tickets for the Berlin underground (U-Bahn), business cards, texts distributed in galleries and museums in Berlin, attesting to the artist's stay in the city for several months as an artist-in-residence.
The work elicits questions pertaining to the loss of touch with one's inner self, with the language and culture of one's place. It opens up an arena of emotional and mental references as a metaphor for the unrealized dinner ceremony and the ongoing search for balance, stability, acceptance, and belonging.” Carmit Blumensohn, 2018
