Artist Statement

In my practice, I am interested in exploring different forms of temptation while forging the complex dependencies and affinities between the artwork and the search for direct emotional effect.

My work wishes to celebrate both the flatness of the canvas as well as to introduce its sensual impurities.

I am interested in the irresistible, the lovable, and the implosive and the possibility of these notions to produce forms, objects, and patterns, while creating influential emotional images in contemporary society that tend to present themselves as logical or objective.

My art is dedicated to pushing the affinities between objects, functions, and desires to the limits and therefore is interested in dysfunctional mechanisms, mutations, and what is considered “out of order”.

In my practice, I experiment with the creation of different archetypes, not in order to tell a story or to create a myth, but as way of transgressing and  rethinking the boundaries the type of image genealogies and evolution processes, as central visual cultural models, are expected to produce.

Based in Israel, my work includes a wide range of experiments in different artistic mediums such as painting, installations, and performances.

My personal reaction to the specific local reality led me to the search for critical forms of Romantic Conceptualism while confronting the rational ways in which we are accustomed to perceive emotional peaks, thus marking the arbitrary connection between representation and sensation, between perception of reality and the actual state of things.
